Back Care Aware – A Self-Help Guide to Back Care

Back pain is a common problem affecting 4 out of 5 of us at some point. It’s often caused by a simple muscle, tendon or ligament strain and not usually by a serious problem.

 

There are several factors that can increase the likelihood of developing or aggravating back pain such as:

  • Poor posture
  • Obesity (BMI of 30+)
  • Carrying or pulling excessive loads
  • Spending extensive periods of time in a standing/sitting/bending position
  • Overstretching or awkwardly twisting your back
  • Repetitive strain injury

 

This back care awareness week we’ve produced an everyday checklist to help reduce the likelihood of developing back pain and minimise the risk of injury:
