Chaplain nominated for local award

Parkside Hospital and Cancer Centre London’s Chaplain, Reverend Richard Thomas has been nominated for a Merton Civic Award. Richard has been suggested for an award in the Community category. His work includes developing the Wimbledon night shelter scheme, which provides overnight accommodation for homeless people throughout the winter.

Richard has also helped young people, using his church (Hillside) as a place for them to go when they need it, as well as hosting meet-up groups for teenagers up to 16 years-old.

Richard is available at Parkside and Cancer Centre London on weekdays to provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients and families. Ministry is available to all people regardless of their faith, or lack of it.
