Dr Flavia Aslanian qualified as a Doctor in Brazil 25 years ago. She has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 1999 (Brazilian Board of Dermatology) and got full GMC qualification as a Consultant Dermatologist in the UK in 2011. Dr Aslanian worked as a Consultant in highly regarded hospitals in London such as Royal London Hospital (and Homerton University Hospital), Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Whittington Hospital, and Kingston Hospital (Locum). Since 2015 she has been working as a Substantive Consultant at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust Hospitals. She attended a Post-Graduation programme in Dermatology at the Queen Mary University of London (2009-2010), and was awarded a distinction and the prize of best dissertation of the year (Vitiligo). She later became a Co-Director and Senior Lecturer for that same Post Graduate Course (2011-2012). Prior to that, Dr Aslanian was also extensively trained in Cosmetic Dermatology in Brazil, Argentina (Buenos Aires University), and UAE (Dubai) and has been practising in this field during her entire career (skin rejuvenation, cosmetic advice, prevention and treatment of ageing signs, acne and rosacea treatment, laser therapy and recently Ultherapy). Dr Aslanian trained and worked at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro- Brazil (UFRJ) for 12 years, involved in medical assistance, teaching and research. There she was awarded a Master’s degree (2001- Genital Dermatology) and a PhD degree (2007- Vitiligo, skin immune system and phototherapy) with distinction. Dr Aslanian has medical publications in high impact journals and has been peer-reviewer for medical journals (invited). In the UK, she also worked as Feasibility Manager in Research for Quintiles, a global leader in Research (2008).
